Top 5 things to do for families

We’ve got lots on to keep little ones busy at The Postal Museum. Here’s some things you can get up to all year round.

1. Ride Mail Rail

Deep beneath the streets of London, Mail Rail is a subterranean mini-train, originally designed to transport mail from the Mount Pleasant sorting office across London.

Rides are included in museum ticket.

2. Have hands-on fun in Sorted!

Discover an immersive mini-town with streets, buildings, trolleys, pulleys, slides and chutes in our play space.

Sorted! requires a separate ticket.

3. Send a note via the Pneumatic Tube

In our museum exhibition space is a Pneumatic Tube system that can sends messages across the museum! Add your special message to one of the tubes and WHOOSH, off it goes.

4. Sort mail on a bumpy train carriage

Get dressed up to sort mail like the Travelling Post Office Posties did, on this moving platform. This is just one of the interactives you can play on in the Mail Rail depot, after your ride!

5. Follow the Tibs trail

Tibs was a Cat who was actually employed by the Post Office. He’s now become a bit of a mascot for us at The Postal Museum, with his own range in our shop! Dotted around the museum exhibition space are stuffed toy versions of Tibs. Can you find them all?
